1976, my passion for travel started during a 3-month family journey through the UK and Europe. Quite young to remember all the details, the stories shared have kept the memories vivid. The excitement of revisiting these places, fuels my desire to explore even more of this world. Spending your days planning and organising customers travel journeys doesn’t feel like a job. The joy is hearing their stories and knowing you helped create memories they’ll treasure forever.

London 1982 I had arrived on the one-way ticket to the UK I had bought In Australia 6 months ago on the start of my journey of discovery. Over the following ten years I lived and travelled around the UK, Europe, and Asia. It increased my desire to become a travel agent ten years later when I began my new career. Since then I have worked in a range of roles over 30 years including, travel designer, team leader, airline coordinator and assistant sales manager.

As a young child with a curious mind studying the atlas for hours, I knew that travel was my passion. After almost 30 years in the industry, I have been fortunate to have seen the midnight sun in Norway, the migration of the wildebeest in Tanzania, and more recently discovering my love of cruising the waters of the world.

I am a passionate travel designer with over 24 years’ experience in the industry. Most of our family trips as kids were piling into the car and driving to the beach in NSW! It wasn’t until my early teens that I travelled overseas for the first time. We went to Hawaii, and I just fell in love with it, and travel! I thought it was so exotic, and so beautiful. Since that first trip, I have been fortunate to travel extensively through South East Asia, which is a particular passion of mine.

I have spent the last 13 years designing dream holidays to some of the world’s most spectacular destinations, some personal favourites being countless itineraries around the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Africa, and South America. The travel industry has led to some of my own most memorable holidays and to destinations I never thought I would be fortunate to visit. My highlights so far have been travelling with a small group tour around Kenya, my time spent in Peru, cruising the Mediterranean and snorkelling in the Maldives.

Growing up, my family ran a coach touring business and I was lucky enough to be “on tour” at a very young age. Extensive travel all around Australia in the 70’s and 80’s ignited my passion for travel and it was a natural progression to explore the world. I consider myself so lucky to have had a lifelong career doing something that has never really felt like work. Designing itineraries, escorting groups and sharing travel stories with colleagues and clients is all in a day’s work and I couldn’t be happier about that.

I fell into travel more than 20 years ago while still living in the UK and I have never looked back. I love everything about travel… The culture, the history, the new experiences, the differences, but most of all the people you meet along the way! My favorite thing about being a Travel Designer is being able to share the world with our clients.

After working in travel for 30 years my love of travel has never slowed. From the culture and food of Europe to overland travel in Africa. A recent walking adventure in Tasmania and family fly drive through the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, there is always somewhere new to explore. I particularly enjoy helping first time travellers and families plan their holidays.

A hunger for adventure is one of the best things I got from my parents, and travel is the ultimate thing to satisfy this. It started with a family trip to Ireland while I was a ‘little lad’ in kindergarten and my passion to share the joy of travelling has only grown from there. Forming relationships with clients (you!) and making travel dreams a reality is such a rewarding way to spend my days.

After my first “grown-up” trip backpacking through Europe in my early 20s, I was always on the lookout for the next exciting new place to see. Having worked in a variety of roles in the travel industry I have had the opportunity to visit all 7 continents and am excited to decide where to go on my next trip!
