Walking with Elephants in Botswana

Here I am utterly dwarfed by the grandeur and size of this magnificent creature. Stanley’s Camp in Botswana offers guests a unique experience like no other.

An Elephant walk is a chance to interact and stroll alongside one of Africa’s most astounding and iconic animals. Being able to see the detail of their wrinkled skin, hearing the thud of their footsteps as they walk and feeling their deep rumbling vocals deep in your chest was simply unforgettable.

Jabu, Thiembe and Malula were rescued from a poorly run theme park and now enjoy a ‘semi wild’ existence at Stanley’s Camp. Endowed with an uncanny affinity with their rescuees, owners Doug and Sandy walk daily with the elephants and the bond they share keeps the pachyderms returning despite having no fences or set enclosure.
