Parisian Experiences to Enhance Your Apartment Baudelaire Stay

Written on Thursday, August 23, 2018 by Paris Seine view with Eiffel tower and ship at summer

Picture yourself in your very own authentic Parisian abode. Morning sunlight streaks through the French windows as you sip your coffee. Outside, the autumn leaf lined streets are beginning to stir to life with the hum of the local commute. Now the hot summer is over, daily life returns to normal as the streets are once again filled with local Parisians. Visit ‘Angelina’ for their famous hot chocolate then perhaps stroll the gardens to the Louvre or even over the river to Musée Rodin.

We think it’s a beautiful time of year to visit Paris so to enhance your stay we have some lovely local experiences you can choose from, to be included with your stay.

Bohemian Paris Walk

Explore one of the most famous parts of the “Rive Gauche” (Left Bank) of Paris. The Latin Quarter has been the land of students for over 1000 years, and possibly the world’s single greatest source of artistic inspiration. This is where Paris began many centuries ago and continues to be one of the most vibrant areas of the city. During this 2-hour walking tour, travellers will visit Sorbonne University, the Pantheon, the Shakespeare and Company bookstore, the oldest cinema in Paris and the magnificent Luxembourg Gardens.

Wine Tasting in Les Caves du Louvre

No one does wine quite like the French, so spend a beautiful day in Paris learning about and tasting their delicious wines. This former royal wine cellar took two years to fully renovate to its present high standard and was designed to inspire and enchant you. You can feel the majestic vibes of this establishment once owned by King Louis XV’s sommelier. Enjoy the self-guided tour followed by a wine tasting with a sommelier.

Seine River & Canals Cruise

Experience both the grandeur of the Seine and the quiet intimacy of Paris’ network of inner-urban canals, created by Napoleon Bonaparte in the early 1800s. Along the way, your informative guide will provide illuminating insights into the history of Paris and its canals. Your River Seine cruise begins near the Musée d’Orsay and sweeps you past a parade of monuments: The Louvre Museum, the spires of Notre Dame Cathedral and tiny Ile Saint Louis, before arriving at the entrance of the Canal Saint Martin. The first section of the canal takes you through an eerily lit tunnel which passes under the Place de la Bastille. Emerging from the tunnel you will discover the most romantic “boulevard” in Paris – the Canal Saint Martin’s three miles of pure poetry. Reflected in the canal’s waters you’ll see old swing bridges, half-moon footbridges and the abundant foliage of chestnut trees. The canal winds its way through a series of 19th-century locks and enchanting old areas of Paris not often seen by tourists.
