European Winter Wonderland Experience

Are you dreaming of a White Christmas?

How about this year instead of sipping cold bubbles from the esky whilst playing a bit of backyard cricket, you’re drinking mulled wine and wandering through snow dusted Christmas markets?

If having a White Christmas in Europe is something you’ve always wanted to experience then read on, as below we have a firsthand recount from one of our staff members celebrating this special time in Europe…

“Travelling through Europe during winter really does feel like a fairytale. I’m usually a Grinch at Christmas time, but I was completely converted. The sense of Christmas Spirit was everywhere, the fairylights weaved around the pine trees, the smell of cinnamon in the air as people sipped on mulled wine, families ice skating, and stalls selling their beautiful handmade Christmas decorations and produce.

The short days and cold air is all part of the magic, and the Christmas markets are buzzing as the locals head out after work to buy their stocking fillers and tree decorations. Listening to the school children sing Christmas carols whilst sipping on Gluhwein and eating gingerbread gave me Goosebumps. It’s the kind of thing you see in the movies.

A white Christmas is something Australians don’t often have the opportunity to experience, and there is something very special about rugging up and braving the cold, and experiencing everything that Europe has to offer in its colder months.”  – Emma Whiting Travel
