Hidden Talent as a Travel Advisor:

Finding ways to make your journey immersive, indulgent and full of moments you never thought possible.

When I’m not planning trips, you’ll find me…

Getting off the beaten track exploring new destinations and experiences. Writing books, exploring ruins, diving shipwrecks, and indulging in my passion for revealing lost history.

One travel tip I swear by:

Always take the time to move away from the crowds and “look around the corner”.  There you will find less tourists, more authentic experiences, local shops and restaurants, and the chance to capture that remarkable travel photo that no one else has.

Most unforgettable trip:

Of all the remarkable places I’ve visited over the past twenty years, one journey stands out above the rest: Norway in winter.

Norway is beautiful in every season, but I chose to experience it at what I believe is its most magical - and coldest. Visiting in late January meant the country was just beginning to emerge from the long polar night. The days were short, yet the sunrises and sunsets stretched endlessly across the horizon, painting the sky in colours so spectacular even locals would pause to take a photo.

The snow-covered fjords were breathtaking, and the winter adventures were unforgettable - snowmobiling across frozen landscapes, dogsledding through silent forests, and staying in remarkable ice hotels.

But the true highlight was witnessing the Northern Lights above the Arctic Circle. Over five nights, the dark sky would suddenly come alive - first with a faint green glow, then sweeping displays of vibrant colour stretching across the horizon.

And when the cold finally set in, there was always the comfort of a warm, cosy cabin waiting. Norway in winter is simply extraordinary.

Dream destination still on your list:

The gleaming white wonder of Antarctica has been calling me for decades.  Ever since I saw Australian Frank Hurley’s iconic images of the failed Shackleton mission; the isolation, desolation, wildlife and sheer adventure of the continent has captured my imagination.

Today, voyages to Antarctica can be enjoyed on a variety of ships varying in class from true luxury to true expedition.  The call to experience it only gets stronger…
