Emma Whiting - Owner Manager

Emma is an expert within the Travel Industry because she’s an expert at travelling the world. She has been almost everywhere; travelled via land, sea and air; worked with some of the biggest names in the industry; and is the proud Director of her own agency, Emma Whiting Travel. While she has cruised the Caribbean, spent summers in Tuscany, studied cookery in Asia, ridden sleighs pulled by reindeer (and done everything there is in between), there’s no doubting Emma’s passion for Africa. She loves the history, the sights and the sounds of Africa. She knows the best place to see Leopard. She’s watched the sun rise over the savannah from a hot air balloon. She’s cycled the streets of Soweto. She’s your expert on the ground! A recent research trip to Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa allowed Emma to road-test a few tented camps in National Parks and private game reserves, and to experience the luxurious Rovos Rail journey from Durban to Pretoria.

David Tattersall - Travel Designer

David has spent 24 years working as a travel consultant and has been with EWT since September 2007. He has travelled extensively through Africa, North and South America, Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific, and Europe. David is particularly fond of the Mediterranean countries of Spain, Italy & Turkey, and of Europe's grand cities. David likes to get off the beaten track and often chooses to travel by rail as it keeps him connected with the local people, their cultures and cuisine. His latest exploration of England and Scotland was a relaxed affair that included accommodation in small country pubs, independent walking tours, bike rides and visits to a number of interesting museums and galleries.

Mahalia Steve - Travel Designer

Mahalia's title of Junior Consultant belies what many would consider a wealth of travel experience. A decade of globetrotting has ignited a passion for travel that means she loves to come to work each day - and it shows in her enthusiasm! Eager to help others realise their travel dreams, she relishes the opportunity to research all there is about a destination; ensuring her clients get the most they can out of their holiday. Some of Mahalia’s favourite travel experiences include rowing across Lake Bled in Slovenia, driving through the beautiful towns of southern France, walking along the Great Wall of China, and staying with locals in Chiang Mai. Future travel predicts a journey through Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia where she’d like to explore her family’s history, customs and traditions.

Chelsea Hutchinson - Travel Designer

Chelsea first picked up the travel-bug whilst living in London, often jet setting to Europe to discover its rich diversity and culture. The past 7 years have seen her establish a decorated career in the travel industry and explore an incredible number of countries – 80 in fact! Chelsea’s passion for people and places has seen her undertake volunteer and charity work in Africa; discover the rich and ancient history of some of the least-visited places along the Silk Route; participate in a charity overland Tuk Tuk race from Nepal to the south of India; and spend over 2 years exploring the beating heart of Latin culture in Central and South America. A keen snow and adventure sport enthusiast, Chelsea is able to give even the toughest outdoorsman a run for their money! Whether you’re interested in the Trans-Siberian railway, a luxurious Mauritian honeymoon, rainforest-trekking in Peru (or anything in between), you can bet Chelsea has the inside scoop and knows just how to get you there.

Ellen Ross - Travel Designer

Ellen was inspired to travel the globe after immersing herself in Thai culture whilst cycling around Chiang Mai. Ellen’s other memorable experiences in Asia include watching thunderstorms on a Junk in HaLong Bay, visiting local children in Hoi An and walking the Thailand-Burma Railway at Hellfire Pass in Thailand.

Ellen is soon to set foot in Europe. A keen interest in culture, language and food will lead her to Italy; to experience a summer on the Amalfi Coast, and to view the picturesque landscapes and fine art of Tuscany. Her passion for animals and wildlife is inspiring a journey to Africa in the near future, with hopes of seeing The Big 5 and an up-close encounter with gorillas while trekking in Uganda or Rwanda.
